4.3 Parametrelerin Hassasiyetine Etki Eden Etmenler

4.3.5 EXOFAST v2 programının avantajları ve dezavantajları

Bütünleşik veri analizi işlemleri için kullanılan EXOFAST v2 programı güncel modeller ve çalışmaları kullanması ayrıca MCMC ile çalışması gibi birçok konuda parametre hesabı için iyi bir tercihtir. Fakat birçok avantajının olmasının yanı sıra birkaç adet dezavantajı da vardır. Dezavantajlarından biri leke modeli barındırmamasıdır. Bu sebeple leke barındıran ışık eğrilerinde sorun yaratmaktadır. Bir diğer dezavantajlı yönü ise IDL temelli olması, her bir bilgisayar çekirdek kullanımı için ayrı bir lisans istemesi, programın birden fazla çekirdekte paralel olarak çalışmak üzere geliştirilmemiş olması gibi nedenlerle başlatılan bir analizi sadece tek bir lisans ve tek çekirdek üzerinden yürütmek mümkün olabilmektedir. Bu da programın hızını önemli ölçüde etkilemektedir. Bu tez çalışması için yapılan bazı analizler modern, 4 çekirdekli, 7. nesilden, > 3 GHz işlemci hızına ve 8 GB RAM’e sahip bilgisayarlarda dahi günler (kimi zaman bir hafta) alabilmiştir. Bu çalışmada gözlemsel dikine hız noktaları yerine dikine hız modellerinden elde edilmiş dikine hız yarı-genliği, dış merkezlilik (e) ve yörüngenin enberi noktasının boylamının (ω) kullanılmasının tercih edilmiş olmasının bir nedeni de budur.
